Apparently this is a real thing. If one soldier/Marine gets deployed or some kind of TDY, the husband and wife talk about it and they can select one of his friends to service the wife while he's gone. Supposedly, because everything is above board abd in the open, it cuts down on the wife cheating and the divorce rate among NCO's.
